Cenote fauna specialist

His current project is related to the ecology and behavior of a stygobitic mysidacean of the genus Antromysis distributed in cenotes of Yucatan, under the mentorship of Dr. Nuno Marques Días Simões.

Graduated from the Faculty of Sciences, U.N.A.M., where he obtained the title of Biologist through a thesis directed at the study of toxins of the marine snail Conus fergusoni, in the Toxinology Laboratory of ICMyL, UNAM, in Mexico City, by Dr. Stuart Lopez Vera.

Current collaborator of the “www.Cenoteando.org” project, which has allowed him to interact with national and international students and researchers from various taxonomic groups, from whom he has learned about sampling methods and processing of organisms.

Passionate about technical underground diving, specialized in mapping and deep diving techniques, with work experience as a diving guide in cenotes and reefs in Quintana Roo and Yucatán, as well as in the preparation of the map corresponding to the “El Nacimiento” cave in Mante River, Tamps.

Interested in the exploration of flooded caves, their ecology, biogeography and bioinformatics focused on solving ecological problems.
