Environmental sciences

Dr. Gabriela Rodríguez Fuentes is a full-time regular B professor at the Chemistry Unit in Sisal of the Faculty of Chemistry of the UNAM.

Graduated from the Environmental Engineering degree at the IPN, she received from the
CINVESTAV-IPN Mérida Unit the master's degrees in Marine Biology and
PhD in Marine Sciences. She also has a postdoctoral degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of California Riverside.

She is currently the Coordinator of the Chemistry Unit at Sisal and is in charge of the Ecotoxicology laboratory. Line of research is in aquatic ecotoxicology, with special interest in the study of the effect of contaminants and other environmental stressors on organisms.

She has 16 years of experience working as a professor in research projects aimed at evaluating contamination by organic compounds and the effects that these contaminants cause on organisms.

She has 42 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, 12 book chapters, editor of a book and numerous participations in national and international conferences.

Member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) North America and
senior editor of the journal Bulletin of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry.
